FAQ
1. Do employers need to provide accommodation for imported workers?
Yes, employers must ensure that accommodation meets the standards outlined in the Appendix of the Standard Employment Contract. For imported workers who are Mainland Chinese residents, employers have the following options:
(a) Provide accommodation in Hong Kong;
(b) Provide accommodation in Mainland China;
(c) Allow workers to reside at their own homes in Mainland China.
Regardless of the arrangement, the accommodation must comply with the standards specified in the employment contract.
2. What are the accommodation requirements for imported workers?
Employers must ensure that the accommodations meet the following standards:
- Minimum Space – Each employee must have at least 3.4 square metres of net usable area.
- Essential Facilities, the accommodation must include:
- Toilet, bathing, and cooking facilities;
- Reliable electricity and water supply;
- Essential furniture and appliances such as bed, mat, pillow, electric fan and refrigerator;
- Sleeping Arrangements –
- Sleeping areas must be separated from the lounge or living space;
- A maximum of six beds per sleeping room is allowed.
Employers are required to comply with these standards to ensure a safe, comfortable and compliant living environment for employees.
3. When should employers arrange accommodation for imported workers?
Employers should secure accommodation as soon as the application is submitted to the Immigration Department. The recommended timeframe is within 45 days before the arrival of the employees to ensure a smooth transition.
4. Where are the dormitories located? Are these locations convenient?
Our dormitories are located across Hong Kong, Kowloon, and the New Territories, strategically positioned near MTR stations and major bus routes for them to access to work or daily activities.
5. What facilities and amenities are included in the dormitories?
Our dormitories are well equipped with the following facilities:
- Bunk beds;
- Individual lockers;
- Air conditioning;
- Wi-Fi;
- Kitchen;
- Lounge area;
- Laundry facilities and;
- 24-hour security surveillance.
Additionally, we provide cleaning and basic maintenance services to ensure a clean, comfortable and well-maintained living environment.
6. How does safety and hygiene be ensured?
We ensure strict compliance with Hong Kong’s regulations by implementing:
- Access control systems for securing entries;
- Fire equipment to meet safety standards and;
- Regular cleaning services to maintain clean and hygiene conditions.

7. What are the specific rules for employees to follow during their stay?
Yes. Residents are required to follow established guidelines to maintain a safe and harmonious living environment. Detailed instructions are provided upon check-in to ensure compliance with dormitory rules.
8. Can employees select their room or roommates?
We do our best to accommodate preferences in which employees from the same company are often arranged to live together. However, room and bed arrangements will be depending on availability and subject to space constraints.
9. Do the dormitories provide internet access and service?
Current regulations do not require employers to provide internet access or broadband networks. However, recognizing the importance of daily contact and communication, many dormitories in Hong Kong offer these facilities for added convenience and entertainment.
10. How can employees get assistance during their stay?
Customer service support will be provided to the employees.
11. How are rent and other fees calculated? Are there any hidden charges?
